Data Science is a course that is combination of business, statistics and mathematics. It involves a lots of statistics ,algorithms and analytical tools .This knowledge is used to retrieve the past data ,analyze it and use it for present business development and patterns for the future. They hence turn raw data into a useful and informative format that helps in taking important and critical organizational ,operational ,strategic and policy decisions.
Data scientists are in demand across all domains of business such as marketing , finance, banking etc. as they highly rely on trend predictions, operation scaling ,consumer targeting for growing business. Data scientists are also hired by research organizations and government policy departments.
An undergraduate degree has a duration of about 3 years. There are a few specialization courses for data science which include machine learning and artificial intelligence .
