About 110 marks..
@ ASHU
I agree with u to some extent that getting 50% in descriptive will not be easy but in GS paper one could have easiely scored about 100 marks as the maths section was very easy. I am getting about 110 marks myself in GS and I am hoping for about 65 marks in english.
you will not get 65 only 64.5.dont expect that much.
Well gentlemen the way u r telling that in descriptive paper will fetch u 70 or 75, either u mst be in the topper or u are unaware of upsc marking pattern. i mean to say 35 in essay, 25 in precis and 30 in comprehension is given to those whose answers are out of the world(marvellous, stupendous)!!! Average marks will be 25+20+25(who hav practised a lot). if u hav such a balanced approach(to timely cover the paper), u must attempt for IAS, choose 2 optionals and start working.
And again in such kind of GS paper if people are getting 60+, go for civil services(there you hav to fetch only 40-45), because talent and knowledge should not be wasted.
Anyways, my stipulated idea for cut-off is around 130-140.
All the best!!!
i m getting something around 190/400…m from gen category….
