UPSC Exam as we all know is the toughest exam ,an average candidate takes 2 or more attempts to clear all the stages of examination. But aspirants who have determined their path towards Civil Service clearly during their 12th standard or during graduation have high possibility of clearing in their first attempt which  is evident from the past record of such selected students. This is not as tough as it seems, rather it only requires clarity in thought, determination to achieve and consistency in preparation and most importantly good guidance and support to stay focused and motivated.

7 most  popular myths regarding preparation of UPSC Examination: There are lot of myths about this exam which must be demystified.

  • Though we call it a tough exam but aspirants who was an average student in school and college can sail through this exam successfully with proper plan and preparation.
  • The youth are intimidated on hearing that this exam requires one to study for long hours. This is also not true given that many working candidates having  2 to 3 hours time to study have cleared it.
  • Parents do not encourage their children to pursue their civil services dream since they believe that this will take many years and one can not make it in first attempt. They consider it as a financial burden. If the son is trying this exam since he will be jobless and if it is their daughter they should answer their community for not marrying their daughter for so long after college. More than the aspirants it is their parents who have to believe in their child’s dream and support them.
  • Depending upon the family situation an aspirant can work and study or they can get the help of state training institutes for civil services which will provide free accommodation, food and coaching for their civil service exam.
  • Among aspirants they imagine that people studying in Delhi have high chance of getting the service which is totally a false image. Now many candidates from different regions are succeeding with increasing awareness of the exam and clear path set by the testimonials of the toppers.
  • Also the aspirants think that the people going to best coaching institutes can only clear this exam. Coaching centers do provide the support in terms of materials, concepts clarity and test practices but there are some aspirants who have cleared this exam without coaching but with simple guidance from their mentors.
  • Many candidates think that only English students can crack this exam. But this is not true , all candidates are equal in front of the eyes of UPSC. Your medium of education is never a question rather  your knowledge is welcomed.
