Reliance is Planning to Enter Retail eCommerce Business

Reliance Industries (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani has unveiled his plan to enter the retail eCommerce marketplace through hybrid platform via Reliance Retail. He is planning to grab a share of the fledgling e-commerce market through what the company called a hybrid platform that aims to bring small retail players on to the online medium. 

He is anticipating the higher growth in this market and drawing the likes of global biggies like Amazon and Walmart to put in big bets. 

Indian e-commerce logged a total revenue of $25 billion in 2017, but the same is projected to grow at 20.2 per cent a year to hit $52 billion by 2022. biggest growth opportunity for Reliance Retail in creating a hybrid online-offline market.
