SSC Cabinet Secretariat Recruitment Syllabus,Pattern of Exam

SSC is conducting Written Exam for SSC Cabinet Secretariat Recruitment for filling the vacancies of 279 posts with various department. The detailed notification for SSC Cabinet Secretariat Recruitment can be viewed here.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:

The Examination will be conducted as indicated below:

RO (ECO), DFO (T) and DFO (GD) : Prelims, Mains and Interview.(Three Tier) (Common Preliminary Test for all the three posts) 

PA and Stenographer : Prelims, Skill Test & Interview. (Three Tier) (Common Preliminary Test for both the posts)

Mode of selection: 3 tier process Candidates qualifying in tier 1 will be called for tier 2 and those qualifying in tier 2 will be called for tier 3 i.e. interview. Select panel to be derived on the combined score of tier 2 (Mains) and tier 3 (Interview).

Tier 1 examination will be qualifying examination. In case of tie between 2 or more candidates, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of date of birth i.e. older candidate will be placed above the younger one.

Pattern and Syllabus  of Post :

The written test will consist of Mainly four papers i.e. General Awareness with current affairs, English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. Total marks of exam will be of 200 Marks with 50 marks in each of the subjects in prelims.Mains exam consist of 3 Hours duration with Maximum 300 marks.

(a) General Awareness – General topics including current affairs from areas like sports, latest happening, Geography etc.

(b) English – General English paper as like other SSC exam covering Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Comprehension, Synonyms,Antonyms ,Vocabulary etc

(c) Quantitative Aptitude  –  All the topics covering R S Aggarwal or M Tyra 

(d) Reasoning – General reasoning Papers.

POST NAME  : Deputy Field Officer (TELE)

Prelims Exam Pattern  :

  • General Studies Questions of 50 marks
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning Questions of 50 marks
  • Numerical Aptitude Questions of 50 marks
Time Allotted: 2 Hours/200 Marks
Conventional Paper I
  • General English Questions of 50 marks
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning Questions of 50 marks
Time Allotted: 2 Hours/100 Marks
Conventional Paper II- Optional as per the discipline chosen during registration
Section – I
Graduate level physics and mathematics questions
Section – II
Diploma level Tele Comm./Electronics/Radio Engineering related questions
Section – III
Diploma level CS/IT Questions

Time Allotted: 2 Hrs/200 Marks

POST NAME : DFO(GD)
Section wise MCQ Exam Details:
  • General English Questions of 50 marks
  • General Studies Questions of 50 marks
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning Questions of 50 marks
  • Numerical Aptitude Questions of 50 marks
Time Allotted: 2 Hours/200 Marks
Paper-I Descriptive:
Candidates will have to write an English Essay  of 70 Marks
Questions on Précis English of 30 Marks
As a test of written communication they’d have to do Letter Writing of 30 Marks
Question paper will include Comprehension passage of 30 Marks
Questions on Grammar will be of 40 Marks
Time Allotted: 3 Hours/200 Marks
Paper-II
Numerical Aptitude Questions of 50 marks
General Awareness Questions of  50 Marks
Time Allotted: 2 Hours/100 Marks

Interview Marks Common For All Post : 60 marks

BOOKS FOR PREPARATION

Preliminary Exam Pattern:
Time Allotted: 2 Hours/200 Questions
Subjects : General English and General Knowledge
Mains Exam:
English Essay with Maximum Marks 100.
Skill Test:
Maximum Marks: 300
Criteria of Remarks: A computer typing test will be taken of 10 Minute/100 w.p.m. Transcription:Time Allotted: English Typing:  45 (50 for Steno) minute Hindi Typing: 60 (65 for Steno) Minutes
Interview Round: 60 Marks
POST NAME : RESEARCH OFFICERS
Scheme of Examination: Preliminary ,Mains and Interview.
Preliminary Exam Pattern:
Time Allotted: 2 Hours/200 Questions
Section wise details:
  • General English Questions of 50 marks
  • General Studies Questions of 50 marks
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning Questions of 50 marks
  • Numerical Aptitude Questions of 50 marks
Main Exam Pattern:
Time Allotted: 3 Hours/300 Marks
Questions Type: Descriptive
Subjects : Statistics and Worldwide Economic Theory  with recent Economic Developments.
Interview : 60 Marks
