This time the syllabus and patterns of Combined Graduate Level exam Tier – I was changed a little with Sectional Cutoff in each section with addition of certain more topics in Maths and other section.
SSC Chief has mentioned in his Twitter Account :
There are 12000 candidates which needed to be selected through around 15 Lacs candidates…”cut off in any exam is not fixed beforehand. it depends on performance of all candidates”.
But it is expected that due to toughness of paper, Sectional cutoff may be waived off.
Results will be published by 31st JUL 2012.
Sectional cutoff and Negative Marking will naturally impact the over all performance of candidates in the Exam. Math paper will be made tougher than other section due to addition of some more topics like geometry etc.

Sectional cutoff will halt the performance of such candidates who are good in One or two section and their scoring in other paper entirely depends on these key papers. Any way the expectation of paper for this year SSC CGL Tier – I is average as per the views of candidates.
This time the Math paper for first session was full of questions from Trigonometry and Geometry. There were around 25+ question were asked from these chapters in Math section. In English section also there were two passage included. Relief for candidates was in General Awareness section which was rather easy.
Due to sectional cutoff this year, Scoring in Math paper will be deciding. I expect that those who have done 20+ question correctly without any negative marks will Hit the button of this year CGL.
We expect the candidates to share their expected marks in SSC CGL 2012 so that we could analyze the Cutoff for the Tier I. This will help candidates in knowing whether they would able to clear the Tier I of Prelims of CGL or not.
We have spoken to many of the coaching Institutes who are specialized in SSC Training. Their views on cutoff is very clear. They are expecting that the cutoff would be 72-77.
All such candidates who are expecting this score must start preparing for the mains because the Mains will be as like prelims especially the Math section.

See brader generally this year coz of Maths being a bitr tough the cut off tends to be lower. But to ur dismay it wont be too less as urs. Gen probab would go at 80. OBC 70
no i think u better look forward for next year!!.....there is no way that cut off gonna fall to 68....it will be around 80-85 for gen

Time 7:58 PM on 08/07/2012
Sectional cut off is there...and who is not going to accept is trying to misguide others........

u ll clear with those much marlks...but d ambiguity s bout d sectional cut off,,,if dat prevails,,,,v ll hv 2 qualify individually...my gk n maths went berserk...around 10 in each...but in aggregate m scoring around 95...pray dat dis sectional cut off keeps away
offcourse you will clear it if you scored as you said.....
U have fare chance of qualifying Tier-1 exam, last year I hav got 100 and qualified for Tier-2 despite belonging to UR category.
u will be definitely cleared in tier1...so prepare for tier2..all the best

evnng batch ki maths bhut tuf thi, mere 80 ho rhe hai, sc cat. me koi chance hai, and plz tel me cuttoff
Yeah. Full chance. Plz be ready for tier-2
101 %.
haan aap mains ki taiyari kar sakte hain aur ssc me koi sectional cut off bhi nai rahegi best of luck
guys evening shift me gk easy tha. maths har set me tough tha,aur naye topics bhi included the. so i think the provision of sectional cut off will not b taken into consideration this tym.
most of the forums are interpreting the "NOTE 2" in the notice in a wrong way..
"NOTE – 2 : The Commission shall have the discretion to fix different minimum qualifying standards in each component of the Tier-I Examination taking into consideration among others, category-wise vacancies and category-wise number of candidates. Only those candidates, who have scored above the cut off marks fixed by the Commission would be required to appear in the Tier –II Examination."
this note was also present in the 2011 notificaion,,,BUT there was no SECTIONAL CUT OFF,,,ssc can but it has never done so far...so there will be no cut off marks this year too....
They may put it because students are more anxious about it this year.
hope so....
ssc wont take sectional cut off. ... previously it used to make people in ratio of 1;12. so for every one post they had to qualify 12 persons in tier 1... and this year post arr expecting to be. more than 10k. ....if sectional cut off cpnsidered means no need fot tier 2.. and also for interview.... less than the total no of ppst...10k.the people are qualifies....go guys iya a simple logic.. dont worry.......it wont be ther....and till now ssc pepple wont mentioned....it is clearly mentiond for bank exams before only............ if ssc... pepple ar willing to fill all the 10 k posts. it wont be any sectional cut off......since very less candidates ar available
They have mentioned that it is their descretionary power. They may infringe with their existing format of having tier 2
they have already mentioned the date for tier 2...so the question of infringement of current system doesn't arise!!
don't know why this discussion on sectional cut off is going on.....ssc never gonna do that!
koi sectional cutoff nahi,
2010,2011 ke notice me bhi yahi likha tha jo 2012 ke notice me likha hai
Friends, we can know whether there will be sectional cut off or not only after 9 july from ssc chief on twitter. answer key will be published on around 13 july 2012. so for getting your problems solved follow ssc chief on twitter.
