Answer key and Cutoff Analysis CGL Prelims Tier I Morning Shift and Afternoon Session, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has conducted the All India Tier – I prelims exam for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) on First sunday of JUL 2012 in Two session at various center in India.

This time the syllabus and patterns of Combined Graduate Level exam Tier – I was changed a little with Sectional Cutoff in each section with addition of certain more topics in Maths and other section.
SSC Chief has mentioned in his Twitter Account :
There are 12000 candidates which needed to be selected through around 15 Lacs candidates…”cut off in any exam is not fixed beforehand. it depends on performance of all candidates”.
But it is expected that due to toughness of paper, Sectional cutoff may be waived off.
Results will be published by 31st JUL 2012.
Sectional cutoff and Negative Marking will naturally impact the over all performance of candidates in the Exam. Math paper will be made tougher than other section due to addition of some more topics like geometry etc.

Sectional cutoff will halt the performance of such candidates who are good in One or two section and their scoring in other paper entirely depends on these key papers. Any way the expectation of paper for this year SSC CGL Tier – I is average as per the views of candidates.
This time the Math paper for first session was full of questions from Trigonometry and Geometry. There were around 25+ question were asked from these chapters in Math section. In English section also there were two passage included. Relief for candidates was in General Awareness section which was rather easy.
Due to sectional cutoff this year, Scoring in Math paper will be deciding. I expect that those who have done 20+ question correctly without any negative marks will Hit the button of this year CGL.
We expect the candidates to share their expected marks in SSC CGL 2012 so that we could analyze the Cutoff for the Tier I. This will help candidates in knowing whether they would able to clear the Tier I of Prelims of CGL or not.
We have spoken to many of the coaching Institutes who are specialized in SSC Training. Their views on cutoff is very clear. They are expecting that the cutoff would be 72-77.
All such candidates who are expecting this score must start preparing for the mains because the Mains will be as like prelims especially the Math section.

THE SO CALLED NOTICE WHICH THE PERSON IS PROVIDING AGAINST HIS CLAIM FOR SECTIONAL CUT OFF WAS EXACTLY THE SAME IN CGL 2011 AS WELL..SSC ALWAYS HAS THE DISCRETION TO FIX SECTIONAL CUT OFF BUT IT DOES NOT USE IT. AND THIS YEAR THE QUESTION PAPERS HAVE BEEN TOUGHEST IN RECENT YEARS..SO NO QUESTION OF ANY SECTIONAL CUT OFF..

Hello Guys, There is no sectional cut off and i calcualte the cut off to appear in the main exam.

obc -85-87
sc- 74-80
st -70-74
and there is a more seats than previous year almost 50%+

ur cut offf is a lit bit higher its about 75-80 for ur and so on.... Just wait and find out whether i m right or wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think the paper was a bit tough than last year's..so shouldn't the cut off be a little lower considering the fact that it was 86.5 for gen. last year

last year bhi yahi same notice tha..............
i think there will be no sectional cut off ,, but ssc must see that all part are attempted or not ,, n the cut off will be remain same as previous yr

which is being quoted by everyone was in the previous year(2011) notification too,,,(u can check)..BUT there were no sectional cut offs...so ssc "CAN" set sectional cut offs but it hasn't done it till date....so forget about sectional cut offs....

but in result nothing mention about sectional cut off. so its uncertain.

ans will be 3. here 6 comes by 2*2+2::8:3*2+2
it depends on ans options....like it could be 4 ...as 6-4=2...so similarly 8-4=4...there can be many answers but the logic depends on answers available.....so mention the ans options for a better reply
