Dear friends,
RTI from UPSC has confirmed 2011 Prelims cutoff - OC-198.OBC-175,SC-165,ST-161 and there is no individual cutoff. So it is a combined cutoff. However UPSC may fix a minimum qualifying marks (like 35-40%) in individual papers & then combine for ranking. So candidates who got balanced marks in both the papers will get thro'. ie if a candidate has got 150marks in paper2 & gets just 50 marks (25%) , he gets total 200marks. Will he be selected? In my opinion UPSC will not do that. So candidate who got atleast 80marks(40%) in papaer-1 & 100 marks(50%)in paper-2 may get thro'.
Best wishes
HI vijay, where u have seen this RTI ? can u send a scanned copy to email ch.ramesh896@gmail.com plzz
God, please help me in qualifying csat 2012, my score z 162 and i hope cut of will be less than it...
is it a combined cut off or u have to meet the cut off individually in each paper
Its combined...
hey Guys
why you people are commenting that the paper was very easy ,if u see the last year questions it may sure if know the concept but this year I hope more tricky and chances to go wrong anyway it my advise to you all dont be in trouble by discissing all these rubbish comments by saying some one secured more than 230 like that because humanly it is not possible to score that much marks in this year as both papers were in tough ...and more over who has disclosed UPSC Cut Off ..UPSC never disclose any clue for cut off
The question:- Why M K Gandhi set for fast unto death in 1932? To this question most answer key opt for option (c) Ramsay Communal Award, as correct answer. But some says Gandhi's fast was against Dalits accepting the communal award i.e. with his fast Gandhi urged Dalit not to accept award. And that Gandhi did not say anything about Ramsay Award. The another options is (d) non of the above is correct. This question is really very tricky. Guys what do you think is the correct answer, option (c) or (d).
that is "c".
(d) the correct answer
Dude , answer is correct . Gandhi was in favor of upliftment of Dalits but he was against Ramsay Communal Award because it gave the wind to communal violence and if it happened then definetly we would have seen one more pakistan. I hope you got the point. If you still have any doubt mail me shobhit10april@gmail.com
nothing can be said right now. we should prepare for main exams even if we are scoring around 170 to 180.
but i think 200 is a good score
My dear friends I am a serious contestant in civil service....last year i have got nearly 176 marks both paper and comes from obc category..but couldn't get into mains...this year i expect nearly 190 marks ( gs 78 to 82, csat 112 to 114)...after subtracting nearly 33 marks as negative....stil i am confuse about whether to prepare for mains or not because it is the last chance for me...as far as considering gs paper at a glance it was so easy but mostly confusing due to tricky alignment...in csat...it played.like a double edged sword...some questions were so easy to handle a kid also but someothers made so confusing due to shortage of time....some passages were to analyse the skills of reading and were too lengthy....so i have left nearly 12 questions even without reading passage also...i don't know what will happen?..i have been searching for many sites to get an advise about it but most of them seems to be in a dilema and even they don't have any clue to advice their aspirants also...frankly says i have come here delhi for studies of civil service in a reputed institution but after joining there i came to know it was the biggest blunder i have done in the matter of civil service preparation....i have lost my money ...my dreams..from there....but still there is a little hope in my mind...wait for result up to upsc anounces it ....if u can, please contribute...the positive information about the result and mains preparation...i wish best wishes for all my collegues....
Hi Rajesh,
For General Category 190+- 5 will be the cut off this year... So start preparing for mains..
I AGREE WITH MANY OF THE CANDIDATES. THIS TIME DEFINATELY CUT OFF WILL BE AROUND 200 OR LESS. PAPER I 80 PAPER II 110-130.HOPE 190-200 IN TOTAL WOULD BE SUFFICIENT. CUT OFF MAY GO DOWN BUT DEFINATELY WONT RISE THIS TIME....
