It is expected that around three lacs candidates will appeared for 98 seats for RBI Grade B Prelims. Rumors are there that PH candidates backlog seats are also needed to be filled this year out of this 98 seats.
This year there will not be any such limitation for section wise time cutoff. Candidates can save their time from GK section to any other section as per their choice. This shows that the Cutoff for the RBI Grade B Prelims exam will be at higher side this time.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has conducted the recruitment prelims test for Grade ‘B’ officers on 18th December 2011. There were four section in the exam which were in series General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning.
EXAM RESULTS FOR RBI GRADE (B) PRELIMS DECLARED : HERE
There was a different pattern in the exam of RBI since for each section there was different number of question with different timing.
As like for General Awareness there was stimulated time for 45 minutes to solve 80 questions, where as in English it was 20 Minutes for 30 Questions. One can’t move to other section unless time get over.
This was difficult to solve since for Math and english the time provided was much less as per the number of question asked.
There were many candidates who couldn’t able to solve the all the section. In my view the cutoff would go very less, since question were very lengthy.
I was able to solve about 45% in each section except General Awareness where I did 70%. Previous year the cutoff for RBI was ( As per RTI)
SUBJECT | MARKS FOR CUTOFF | WEIGHTAGE MARKS |
REASONING | 17 | 0.75 |
GENERAL AWARENESS | 12 | 1.60 |
ENGLISH | 11 | 0.75 |
QUANT MATHS | 06 | 0.75 |

Is there a chance of clearing the initial round?
for information there are many who were privileged being spared by invigilator to go to next section on completion of ga.
u r correct...tht's very discouraging for hard working & honest candidates...i have seen it almost in every competitive exam...

guys....any idea what would be approximate number of candidates clearing the prelims as total vacancies are 75. As per RBI's website, around 1.25 lac students were appearing for Sunday's exam.
it is heard that for mains RBI call for 1:10 ratio....and in Interview 1:5
hi raj i got 140 in po(cwe) under sc-category
plz reply me
you have good chance of selection....
its actually 1:20 ratio for mains .........you may go back to previous recruitment results.
means only 750 condidates will be called for rbi mains.
Except the Quantitative section, which i messed up big time by not able to answer more than 4-5 questions, I think the rest is "OKAY" for me. If I score very low in QA section but score good marks in other sections, will I get the call or every SECTION has cutoff for themselves?? Anyone, pls enlighten.
My paper code was 111.
GK – 70+
ENG – 27 +
QA – 5 :(
LR – 50 +
No.....one have to clear each and every section beside getting the higher aggregate...
My attempts are: paper code - 333:
expecting 85-90% accuracy in GS and 95% in rest.
GA - 63 / 80
Eng - 15 / 30
QA - 11 / 30
LR - 30 / 60
I personally feel i hve not done tht bad...and hve done whtever i could hve...
